Six New Regional Co-Productions Awarded under the IMM Programme

The Innovation. Media. Minds. (IMM) Programme is proud to announce the results of its second call for Production Grants for Independent Media and Media Organisations in the Western Balkans, supporting innovative co-productions between independent media outlets and public service broadcasters (PSBs) across the region.

Following a highly competitive selection process—with 75 proposals received and 13 shortlisted—the selection committee awarded six new production grants, recognising outstanding ideas that promote pluralism of expression, social inclusion, and cross-border cooperation.

The following six projects have been selected for funding:
  • Creative Industries Cluster of Vojvodina (Serbia) in cooperation with Radio and Television of Vojvodina (RTV), Radio and Television of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BHRT) and Radio and Television of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (RTV FBiH). Project: EU Dossier: Montenegro – Chapters Under the Spotlight. A five-part investigative documentary series unpacking key EU accession chapters and their real-life implications for citizens.
  • Association “Doku.ba” (Bosnia and Herzegovina) in cooperation with Radio and Television of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BHRT) and Radio and Television of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (RTV FBiH). Project: Systemic Silence: Breaking the Pattern. An investigative documentary addressing femicide and domestic violence as systemic societal and institutional issues.
Together, these six co-productions—implemented from November 2025 to June 2026—represent the growing collaboration between independent media and public service broadcasters in the Western Balkans. With a total of EUR 166,947.28 awarded, the new projects reaffirm IMM’s mission to strengthen independent journalism, enhance audience-relevant reporting, and foster dialogue on key social, political, and human rights issues in the region.

Managed by the Goethe-Institut, on behalf of the European Commission and in collaboration with its implementing partner DW Akademie, the EU-funded "Innovation. Media. Minds: EU Support to Public Service Journalism in the Western Balkans" continues to play a crucial role in supporting the Western Balkans' journey towards European integration, demonstrating the power of strategic funding in transforming public service media.
