We are delighted to announce the results of the first call for Regional Co-Production Grants for Public Service Media in the Western Balkans. This grant initiative aims to strengthen regional cooperation among public service broadcasters by supporting joint media content production on topics of common interest.

Awarded project under this initiative is a compelling collaboration between Radio Television of Kosovo (RTK) as the lead applicant and Radio and Television of Montenegro (RTCG) as the project partner.
Project “Youth Dilemmas: Stay or Leave?” will explore the pressing issue of youth migration in Kosovo* and Montenegro. Through documentary-style storytelling, expert commentary, and personal narratives, the project will examine the factors driving young people to leave their home countries, as well as the motivations of those who choose to stay and contribute to their communities.

Special attention will be given to the experiences of young women, ethnic minorities, and youth from rural or disadvantaged backgrounds. The project will include two in-depth TV episodes and complementary social media content designed to spark public dialogue and influence policy discussions on youth retention and development.
The project started in June 2025 and will be implemented over a period of eight months. The total amount awarded to RTK and RTCG is €24,892.00.

Managed by the Goethe-Institut, on behalf of the European Commission and in collaboration with its implementing partner DW Akademie, the EU-funded "Innovation. Media. Minds: EU Support to Public Service Journalism in the Western Balkans" continues to play a crucial role in supporting the Western Balkans' journey towards European integration, demonstrating the power of strategic funding in transforming public service media.
