Events for School Classes

Class visits at the Goethe-Institut Chicago

The Goethe-Institut Chicago is excited to welcome school groups again this December!

During your 60-minute visit, we will offer an engaging program in easy-to-understand German (or English if needed). The visit includes a brief introduction to the Goethe-Institut's work and an interactive exploration of German culture.

The maximum group size is 25 people (including teachers and chaperones). If you have more participants, please let us know in advance so that we can split the group over two sessions if necessary. Due to our location, we can only offer a limited number of dates for school classes.

The Goethe-Institut Chicago is located at 150 N Michigan Ave, 4th floor (Suite 420).

We also ask that you have the following photo release form filled out by your students or their guardians, and send the completed forms by email to teacherservice-chicago@goethe.de or bring them with you to your visit.

Looking Back at Class visits 2024

Last year, we had the pleasure of welcoming 317 students to the Goethe-Institut. During the one-hour session, they received an introduction to the work of the Goethe-Institut and playfully explored the world of German art. The students greatly enjoyed the paintings, showing remarkable team spirit and strong interest in the subject. Regardless of their level of language proficiency, all students were able to immerse themselves in the German language. The students also expressed their excitement about visiting the nearby Christkindlmarket, which they were heading to after their visit at the Goethe-Institut.
