On 27 February 2025, a delegation from the European Union Office in Kosovo and the Goethe-Institut visited Kosovo’s public broadcaster RTK to witness firsthand the progress made under the EU-funded “Innovation. Media. Minds: Support to Public Service Journalism in the Western Balkans” program. The visit  focused on RTK’s efforts to modernize its infrastructure and enhance content for youth and children.

Thanks to a €60,000 innovation grant awarded in 2024, RTK has successfully established a new mini production control room and renovated its studios to launch fresh programming centered on youth, children, and environmental topics. These developments are part of a broader push to raise awareness on issues such as bullying, climate change, and gender-based violence. During the visit, RTK Director General Hysen Hundozi and the EU Ambassador Aivo Orav shared their vision for public service media, showcased early results, and toured the upgraded facilities.

The event reaffirmed the shared commitment of the EU, Goethe-Institut, and RTK to strengthen independent, inclusive, and future-oriented public service journalism in Kosovo*.
