Would you like to learn German or improve your German? Would you like to learn German with other young people from all over the world? If you are between 12 and 16 years old, then we have something for you: Our German Online for Teens course! Learn German or improve your knowledge of German at the A1, A2, B1 or B2 language level with the support of highly qualified teachers with native German or comparable skills.

How does the German Online for Teens course work?

Free Placement Test
Depending on the test result from our free placement test, your child will be assigned to the appropriate level.

Procedure
The German Online for Teens course can be taken alongside regular school lessons. It lasts 12 weeks and includes 72 lessons per sub-level. This means your child will have 6 German lessons per week.

Course participants meet their fellow learners and the teacher every Wednesday for 2 and every Saturday for 4 virtual lessons via Zoom.

What does German Online for Teens include?

The course German Online for Teens is divided into chapters that cover current and everyday topics and teach you the vocabulary and grammar you need to understand them. 

Excercises
The participants will study along with a wide range of exercises, e.g. videos, images, audio files, reading texts and cloze texts both alone and in groups. They will also work on exercises to be submitted to their teacher (e.g. longer writing tasks), which will then be checked and sent back with detailed, individual feedback. This is how the learners practice listening, reading and writing. Speaking will be practiced specifically in the live sessions. 

Questions
In case of questions, the participants can exchange ideas via the forum or contact their teacher by email. 

Material
All course materials are provided digitally through an online licence of a textbook and are included in the course fee.

The number of lessons that are usually required to reach a certain level and take the corresponding Goethe certificate are based on experience. Individual aspects such as language learning experience and native language also play an important role. We will grade you before the start of the course in order to ensure optimal learning success.
